Chief Scientific Officer
Antiverse is looking for a CSO to define our next scientific chapter: where we focus, what biology we build around, and how to shape a differentiated AI-enabled biologics pipeline.
We usually respond within a day
Build the next generation of Antiverse: from disease biology to AI-designed therapeutics.
Relocation support and visa sponsorship for exceptional candidates to relocate to Cardiff.
Antiverse is an AI-driven biotech company designing antibodies against some of the most challenging targets in medicine, including GPCRs and ion channels. We combine machine learning, advanced cell-line engineering, high-throughput experimental biology and antibody engineering to create new medicines that were previously difficult or impossible to discover.
We are seeking a Chief Scientific Officer to shape the next stage of Antiverse’s scientific strategy.
We believe the next generation of techbio companies will not be defined by AI alone. They will be defined by the ability to connect deep disease biology, clinically relevant translational models, scalable experimental systems and machine learning into a platform that can repeatedly create better medicines.
We are looking for a CSO who can help us move from target-by-target antibody discovery into a more
The right candidate will bring deep expertise in IPF, MASH or a closely related fibrosis, metabolic or inflammatory disease area, combined with the breadth to think across disease biology, antibody discovery, translational pharmacology, target selection, platform strategy and partnering.
We are particularly interested in candidates who are scientific generalists and systems-level researchers: people who can connect disease state, patient biology, target biology, modality, data generation, model building, experimental strategy and commercial opportunity into a coherent platform and pipeline strategy.
Culture and Values
We believe in the power of autonomy nurtured in a culture with the following values.
Own the outcome
We take responsibility for the result, not just the task, and for the choices that get us there when we cannot do everything. We surface problems early, make trade-offs explicit and step in where we can help move things forward.
Speak with care
We communicate clearly, constructively and politely. We say the hard thing when it matters, to the relevant person, as early as possible. We do so with kindness, respect and care, but we do not use discomfort as a reason to stay silent.
People First
We work to make things better for everyone: both on a societal level and a personal level. We will thrive as a team, as a company, and as a society by combining smartness with thoughtfulness in everything we do.
Rigour & agility
We move fast and innovate in our thinking, yet combine this agility with utter rigour and robustness. We are dedicated to delivering rock-solid solutions.
Interdisciplinarity
Our interdisciplinary approach goes deeper than our science. We believe that the best ideas and the most interesting conversations often come from synthesising diverse expertise and experiences.
Role
As Chief Scientific Officer, you will define Antiverse’s scientific direction and help build the next version of our platform and pipeline.
You will work closely with the CEO, leadership team, board, discovery teams, AI/ML teams, and external partners to decide where Antiverse should focus, which biological systems we need to build, which datasets matter, and how we can translate our platform into differentiated therapeutic assets.
Define Antiverse’s scientific strategy and therapeutic-area focus for the company's next phase.
Further develop our existing pipeline in IPF and MASH
Build a disease-informed platform strategy
Translate complex disease biology into clear target hypotheses, assay strategies, dataset requirements and therapeutic opportunities.
Define what “good biology” means for the platform: which disease models, cell systems, perturbations, readouts and efficacy assays are needed to make discovery more predictive.
Work with AI/ML, discovery, cell-line engineering and biology teams to generate the datasets required to train, validate and improve the next version of the platform.
Own the scientific rationale for internal pipeline selection, target prioritisation and programme progression.
Lead progression of internal and partnered antibody programmes from discovery into in vivo validation and partner-ready assets.
Design and oversee translational strategies, including in vitro, in vivo and clinical studies.
Ensure programmes are based on strong biological hypotheses, rigorous data packages and clear decision criteria.
Guide optimisation of antibody candidates and ensure assets are suitable for downstream development, partnering and licensing.
Act as a senior external face of Antiverse’s science with pharma partners, investors, scientific advisors and potential collaborators.
Help build, mentor and structure a high-performing scientific organisation.
Bring scientific discipline, strategic clarity and systems thinking to a fast-moving techbio environment.
